Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients, visitors, carers, and staff across Trust sites.
  • Act as the first point of contact for individuals attending services, including those experiencing mental health distress or crisis.
  • Manage reception duties including appointments, telephone enquiries, email correspondence, room bookings, scanning, and administrative support.
  • Provide a professional, empathetic, and customer-focused service at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain safe access to Trust premises.
  • Respond appropriately to security incidents, panic alarms, and emergency situations.
  • Support clinical teams when required with challenging or distressed service users.
  • Work collaboratively with Fire Wardens and support evacuation procedures during emergencies.
  • Ensure clinical and public areas are secure at the end of the day.
  • Communicate effectively using telephones, radios, and Trust systems.
  • Report maintenance, security, and health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in line with Trust policies.
