This position represents a rare and exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with significant data and study management experience to provide efficient set-up, data management and study support to the Clinical Research Facility (CRF).
Main duties of the job
Working within the structure of the CRF, the post holder will lead on the coordination of efficient study set up and continued delivery of the highest quality research and the management of patient data relating to clinical research studies. The post holder will manage their own workload working with the research delivery team(s) and liaising with relevant clinical trial Sponsor representatives to support the set up and delivery of clinical trials within the CRF. Responsibilities will include line management, training and development of data managers and research colleagues. In addition, the post holder will prepare paper and electronic Case Report Forms (CRFs), Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and Proformas and prepare for monitoring visits. They will also liaise with trial Sponsors to ensure timely transfer of data, and resolving any data queries. In depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and research governance regulations is essential. You should be highly motivated and be able to undertake tasks using your own initiative.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Essential
- • Experience of working in a healthcare or clinical research environment
- • Experience in the set-up and ongoing management and coordination of clinical research studies
- • Experience maintaining databases (Microsoft Access, Edge®, RedCap, SQL)
Desirable
- Experience of working on early phase clinical trials
- Experience of working in a Clinical Research Facility (CRF)
Skills & aptitudes
Essential
- Good working knowledge of the guidelines and regulations that govern clinical research and the cross-cutting legislation that informs its delivery in the UK
- Excellent understanding of operating systems, software and hardware
- Acquired specialist expertise in managing research databases, fault fixing/troubleshooting skills at all levels
- Ability to establish a role and develop collaborative working relationships with different teams
- Skills and knowledge in managing and supporting clinical staff
Desirable
- Knowledge of reports and audit methodology
