Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Rota coordinator within our Women's and Children's department.
You will be responsible for the planning, update, maintenance and distribution of medical staffing rosters for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics across the Trust. Ensuring rosters are providing adequate safe cover and are always compliant with the European Working Time Directive and the New 2016 Junior Doctor Contract.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the escalation of issues when appropriate
To deal with queries from junior doctors, consultants and managers. To ensure effective staffing levels for each service. Effectively assist in reducing temporary locum spend by reallocation of existing staff based on the set minimum determined by the Clinical Directors.
Respond promptly, effectively and appropriately to tasks and requests. To prioritise workload and complete within prescribed timescales
To be responsible for the planning, update, maintenance and distribution of medical staffing rosters across the Trust. Creation of new versions of rotas as per instructions from Clinical Directors and Senior Medical Staffing Coordinator.
Ensure on call /out of hours are staffed, to the agreed staffing levels set by each speciality. Maintain the medical staffing rosters adhering to the minimum staffing levels required for each speciality – ensuring all Consultant teams/Clinics/Theatres are covered with sufficient junior/senior doctors. If this is not possible, it must be escalated to Clinical Lead/ Clinical Director who will advise.
Coordinating with the relevant departments to ensure a smooth induction process. Ensure all medical teams have the appropriate medical cover during annual intake and the changeover dates throughout the training year in order to maintain patient care.
