Ward Administrator (Band 2)
Location: Whiston and St Helens Hospitals Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Floating Ward Administrator to join our team. This is a key front-facing role, providing high-quality administrative support to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running on a variety of busy clinical wards within our hospitals.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming service at all times.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties
- Meet and greet patients and visitors to the ward
- Answer telephone queries and liaise with patients and relatives
- Book and request patient appointments and discharge arrangements
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data quality compliance
- Return and manage case notes and ward documentation
- Ensure ward activity and appointments are recorded correctly

About You
You will:
- Have good IT and administrative skills, including experience of using patient systems or similar
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
- Be organised, reliable, and able to prioritise workload effectively
- Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and use your own initiative
Previous NHS or clerical experience is desirable but not essential.
