For questions about this job, contact: Name - Amanda Snell Position - Corporate Services Manager Email - amanda.snell@nihr.ac.uk As the Team Leader, the post holder will provide day to day management and support to the Y&H RRDN Corporate Services team, reporting directly to the Corporate Services Manager. The post holder will undertake the day-to-day management of the Corporate Services Team which includes Senior Administrators/Personal Assistants. The post holder will also be required to provide PA cover as required. The post holder will lead the Corporate Services Team in providing a comprehensive and efficient support service in line with the agreed job-plans. The post holder will provide day-to-day supervision and support for team members and be responsible for liaison with other staff members within the Network to ensure an efficient support service is provided to the Senior Leadership Team. Working closely with the Corporate Services Manager, the post holder will support the development of the Y&H RRDN corporate service reflecting local and national priorities, and ensuring contractual compliance.

Job responsibilities

Business and Administration - Working closely with the Corporate Services Manager, you will bring strong administrative leadership to maintain high operational standards across the department. You offer expertise in managing fluctuating workloads, servicing senior business meetings, and delivering dedicated Executive PA support to the Senior Leadership Team. As a subject matter expert in NIHR standards and Information Governance, you will ensure efficient internal processes while training and mentoring team members.

Financial Management - You will ensure robust financial control by supporting the tracking of core business budgets, processing invoices accurately, and resolving queries directly with Trust finance teams. Additionally, you will take joint responsibility for managing procurement, ensuring the administrative department is reliably equipped with required assets and supplies.

Human Resources Management - You will provide effective direction and line management for the administrative team, overseeing recruitment, appraisals, PDPs, and staff inductions. Your analytical approach will allow you to navigate complex HR situations, handling sensitive employee relations and investigatory processes with sound judgment.

Communication - You will serve as an effective representative for the Senior Leadership Team, communicating confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority. By applying strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict-resolution skills, you will manage sensitive situations effectively and maintain positive professional relationships.

Other - You will bring a proactive approach to continuous improvement, constantly evaluating and refining internal processes to make them more streamlined and customer-focused. By maintaining clear links with Delivery Organisations, Researchers, and Sponsors, you will ensure the department actively supports the broader strategic aims of the Y&H RRDN.
