We are looking for a Support Secretary who is efficient, conscientious, well-motivated, enthusiastic and has relevant experience, with the skills to provide dedicated clerical support to both the clinical and administrative teams within an ENT department.
The key aspect of the role involves dealing with the public and professionals, as well as typing for the department, hence you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have proven IT experience. We would welcome an informal visit to the unit.
Main duties of the job
- To ensure a high standard of secretarial and administrative service is consistently delivered by undertaking / delegating all required tasks and activities on a daily basis
- To utilise the required technology / hospital systems and any other new technology or system(s) that are introduced to deliver an efficient administrative and secretarial service.
- To recommend and support the implementation of service improvements to own and team working practice to improve workflow.
- To ensure competencies are developed, sustained and updated and to deliver the required administrative and secretarial service in a changing working environment

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

- Proven experience within clerical / secretarial sector
- Evidence ability to use audio / digital typing
- Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and IT skills
- Work involving contact with members of the public.

- English and Maths GCSE's, Grade C or above
