An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our operational management team within General Surgery and Gastroenterology at Colchester Hospital as a Service Manager.
This role is ideal for a dynamic individual looking to expand their knowledge and leadership experience within the NHS.
As a Service Manager you will support the day-to-day operational service delivery, supporting the General Manager to ensure delivery on current recovery trajectories as well as achieving cancer waiting times and the 18 weeks RTT target. You will play an integral role in the delivery of NHS performance and quality standards, ensuring the right care and treatment is provided to all patients.
Working with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals to deliver our service, you will be able to develop your operational and management skills in a supportive and innovative atmosphere.
This role plays a major role in the continuing development of service delivery for the benefit of our patients where care and compassion are central to everything we do.
Main duties of the job
As a Service Manager you will be part of the Clinical Delivery Group leadership team for Specialist Surgery that supports the achievement of the financial performance and operational objectives ensuring workforce, accommodation and equipment resources are optimized.
In conjunction with the General Manager, you will provide operational management support to the CDG. With the General Manager you will manage all aspects of operational delivery to agreed quality standards and within the resource and income base available, to support the Trust's development as a clinically led organisation.
You will deliver an efficient and effective administrative service by supporting the Operational Coordinator in managing the administration staff. You will support the division in achieving its financial performance and operational objectives. You will also work in partnership with colleagues across the Trust to drive the achievement of the Trust's corporate goals and business plan, including the achievement of all the relevant clinical specialties performance standards incorporating quality, safety, contractual, financial and people.
