Senior Stem Cell Transplant Nurse Specialist

Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist with experience in stem cell transplant to join our dynamic and evolving service. This is a pivotal role where you will provide expert clinical leadership, coordinate complex patient pathways, and support the delivery of safe, high-quality care for a highly specialised patient group.You will play a key role in leading service transformation, driving quality improvement initiatives, and supporting a developing multidisciplinary team within a challenging and rewarding environment. Working closely with medical and nursing colleagues, you will champion best practice, enhance patient experience, and contribute to the ongoing development and sustainability of the service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about innovation, leadership, and improving outcomes for children and families undergoing stem cell transplant.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be practising as an independent specialist clinical practitioner providing patient-centred and evidence-based clinical care, within an agreed scope of competence and practice. The jobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care. The jobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources. The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and education to staff groups, patients and families/carers. The post holder will work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to implement and improve the patient pathway and will be expected to develop new skills to further enhance the quality of the service delivered.
