We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated leader to join our Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory team at MMUH. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse with significant clinical expertise and proven leadership experience to lead a specialist team within a fast-paced and innovative cardiac service. The successful post holder will provide professional, clinical and operational leadership for the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the department, including workforce planning, staff development, budget management and maintaining safe staffing levels and clinical standards.

Main duties of the job

Provide professional, clinical and operational leadership for the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality patient care.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the department, ensuring a seamless patient journey, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and patient experience.

Acting as a visible and approachable leader, promote clinical excellence and act as a role model for professional practice, supporting staff to deliver outstanding patient-centred care.

Lead, motivate and develop the nursing workforce through effective recruitment, appraisal, training, mentorship and performance management, ensuring staff have the skills and competencies required to meet service demands.

Take responsibility for workforce planning, roster management and maintaining safe staffing levels, fostering a supportive working environment that promotes staff wellbeing, engagement and retention.

Accountable for managing budget and resources, effective and efficient use of finances, equipment and staffing resources.

Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, lead service development and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with national standards, professional guidelines and Trust policies.

Contribute to governance, audit, risk management and patient safety programmes, using learning and innovation to continuously improve patient outcomes and service performance.
