Job overview

We are looking for and experienced and enthusiastic Senior Information Governance Officer to join our successful Information Governance team working across the Northwest and beyond.

As a Senior Information Governance Officer you will be earning up to £56,515 all within a flexible working environment.

In their client-facing role they will provide support to existing NHS and Public Sector MIAA clients, individually, at place and at system level, to ensure that they meet highly complex legal and regulatory obligations in relation to Information Governance including confidentiality, information security, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and GDPR,

Additionally, the post holder will have internal DP and IG responsibilities to MIAA and its staff.

Main duties of the job

Is responsible for the management and performance of the Information Governance service to allocated clients and the staff within that function/workstream

Ensures that all the standards, to which the service operates, are compliant with all statutory or mandatory obligations and operates to the overall standard specified by the Assistant Director – Information Governance.

Will advise the Assistant Director -Information Governance and the Principal Information Governance Officer on strategic business planning as necessary.

Manages the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and associated activities for allocated clients.

Manages information governance related enquiries and issues that have been escalated to them from staff in client organisations.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Is the Delegated Information Asset Owner for the Information Governance Department Management System, which means they have day-to-day responsibility for that system.

Is responsible for the integrity of the information that is submitted to the NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit system. For allocated clients.

Is managerially responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Information Governance workstream and will ensure that the objectives that are set by the Assistant Director – Information Governance are implemented to the quality and timescales that are defined.

Will ensure that the corporate performance targets for the Information Governance workstream are met.

Will contribute to the development of the Information Governance and wider Digital strategy and will ensure that those aspects of the strategy that relate to Information Governance are delivered in accordance with that strategy.

Will provide reports internally, within MIAA, and to relevant client committees as required by delivery contracts and service level agreements relating to service performance and wider Information Governance matters.
