Main duties of the job

General duties: 1.Work to agreed objectives and given freedom to do this in own way, working within professional and organisational boundaries. 2. Audit and validate data entered into clinical and administration systems such as HICSS, E-Docs, E-Camis, Camis ensuring data are kept accurate and complete as well as being entered in a timely manner. 3. Create reports by inputting and manipulating complex data using tools such as Excel, Business Objects. 4. Create and maintain training guides for Care Group clinical systems with the aim of training multi professional staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Further duties of the role;

  • Design, produce and analyse reports to support data submission to Trust and National bodies and validate as required. 6. Implement Trust and Care Group policies, propose and implement changes for practices within own work area. 7. To act as the lead in the management of electronic booking system worklists and reports and manage the Advice and Guidance requirements for the department. 8. To supervise and actively assist with patient bookings to aide with meeting the trust targets. 9. Liaise with and assist the Operational team in the publishing of the clinical and theatre rotas. 10. Deputise the RTT Validation & Access lead. 11. In conjunction with the Operations Manager conduct internal IT hardware audit for Care Group. 12. Action any other requests from operational and access management team as required. 13. Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of the patient’s pathway along with the validation of National databases.

To provide analytical support to the Access Manager and Validation & Access lead for the validation of waiting lists. To assist in local and statutory audits as required.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Qualifications / training required

Essential

  • Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GSCE pass level or equivalent standard.
  • NVQ3/A Level or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Courses / further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Previous or relevant experience necessary

Essential

  • Detailed specialist and organisational knowledge of health service policy in relation to access targets
  • Experience working in an administrative capacity in a customer focused environment.
  • Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems.
  • Proficient in the use of all hospital computerised patient systems.
