You will work with researchers, patients, communities and stakeholders to enhance access to research, strengthen public participation, support grant development, and deliver impactful communication and engagement strategies. If you have experience in research, patient engagement, communications, and partnership working, this is an opportunity to shape the future of research across one of the UK's largest NHS groups. This role will work across all our sites and the postholder will be expected to travel to work at these sites, this will include out of hours engagement work with patients and communities.
Main duties of the job
The gesh Research Engagement Manager will support the Group Research & Innovation Directorate in the operational development of patient and public engagement initiatives in clinical research, in line with the gesh Group R&I strategy. The role will lead research involvement, engagement and inclusion initiatives across the group. They will coordinate and implement strategies to engage with clinical and academic researchers, patient groups and the public to improve the quality and accessibility of research. This includes the development and oversight of an engagement, communication and social media plan for research and innovation. They will provide specialist advice on patient and public inclusion and engagement (PPIE) to grant and fellowship applicants.

- Track record of Significant experience of working in health research in patient experience, PPIE
- Experience of working with stakeholders and managing relationships across a range of various research and healthcare organization and institutions as well as public and professional groups
- Experience of developing and delivering patient and public engagement activities and event management in NHS setting
- Ability to prepare reports, analyse highly complex data for Boards, Committees and Management groups.
- Experience of developing and delivering training in PPIE or relevant areas.
- Experience in working with and managing Communications and social media in NHS or other public sector areas
- Evidence of working effectively with clinicians and the MDT
- Editing / updating websites
- Knowledge of the different methods and impacts of PPIE in health research.
- Knowledge of UK clinical research legislation & regulatory requirements and NHS research methods
- Experience in setting objectives and performance management and holding staff to account

Qualifications & Training
