Job summary
Are you an organised, customer-focused administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and delivering an excellent service? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team to support the delivery of a high-quality, efficient and responsive recruitment service.
You will play a key role in recruiting and onboarding new employees working closely with managers and candidates to provide a professional end-to-end recruitment service, helping us attract and appoint individuals who will make a difference to patient care.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, strong written communication skills and an ability to work accurately with data and maintain attention to detail. You must also have the ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively and work independently and use initiative appropriately.

This post is for 25 hours per week and must include working a Friday 8.30am to 4:30pm to cover the service.
Main duties of the job
The Workforce and Organisational Development Directorate delivers a wide range of HR transactional services to South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, plus two Subsidiary Companies, and our Recruitment Services Team is at the centre of ensuring the very best staff are recruited to deliver high quality care to our patients / service users.
As a Recruitment Services Officer you will:
- Support Trust and subsidiary company recruitment campaigns by advertising vacancies through NHS Jobs and if required other external websites / publications.
- Manage recruitment administration from advert to appointment.
- Process pre-employment checks including references, DBS checks, right to work verification ensuring compliance with NHS Employment Check Standards.
- Issue conditional offers and contracts of employment.
- Provide advice and support to recruiting managers and applicants throughout the recruitment process.
- Maintain accurate employee records ensuring data quality across ESR and other recruitment systems.
- Monitor recruitment activity against agreed timescales and proactively identify and resolve delays.
- Support recruitment events and targeted recruitment campaigns.
- Work collaboratively with HR colleagues and other departments to deliver an excellent customer experience.
The role may also include occasional support to Trust Headquarters Reception and assisting other areas within Employee Services when required.
