Saffron House is looking for a professional, friendly and highly organised full time Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team. The role is based in the main reception, where we look at patients over the age of 18.

Main duties of the job
As the first point of contact at Saffron House, you will:
- Provide a warm, welcoming and professional reception service to all patients, parents/carers, visitors, NHS colleagues and external contractors.
- Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries, both in person and via telephone and email, ensuring queries are handled efficiently and signposted to the correct department.
- Operate the main switchboard, transferring calls, taking accurate messages and ensuring information is relayed promptly and appropriately.
- Maintain high standards of general office administration, ensuring departmental documents are accurate and up to date.
- Support with daily operational tasks, such as fire alarm testing and liaising with contractors.
- Manage room bookings and ensure smooth coordination of space within the building.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Knowledge
Essential
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
- Experience of communicating effectively at all levels with a variety of contacts
- Relevant administrative experience
- Awareness of health & safety within the building
- Ability to work effectively with intermittent interruptions/enquiries
Qualifications

- Qualification to NVQ Level 3 and/or previous experience in an administrative role

- Flexible approach to providing cover for annual leave, sickness and emergency cover, sometimes at short notice
