We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our Transformation Team and help deliver strategic improvement programmes across the Trust. Working closely with divisional, clinical, and operational colleagues, you will lead a portfolio of transformation and service improvement projects aligned to the Trust’s strategic objectives and Always Improving approach. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, patient-centred change that improves quality, efficiency, and outcomes for patients and staff. The role requires a confident and influential professional who can manage complex programmes, engage stakeholders at all levels, and lead change in fast-paced and challenging environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and delivering transformation and service improvement projects across the Trust Using project management and quality improvement methodologies to drive measurable results Analysing complex data and service performance to identify opportunities for improvement Influencing and supporting teams to adopt new ways of working and embed sustainable change Managing project delivery against agreed timescales, outcomes, and financial targets Coaching and developing colleagues in improvement tools, techniques, and change management Supporting Trust-wide training, facilitation, and improvement events Acting as a visible champion for continuous improvement and patient-centred care

Strong project management and service improvement experience Knowledge of quality improvement, transformation, and change management methodologies Excellent influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in complex organisations The ability to manage competing priorities with a high degree of autonomy A passion for improving healthcare services and delivering meaningful change

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
-Manage the successful delivery of project objectives against identified goals. Ensure project schemes are realised on time, within agreed financial constraints. This includes responsibility for monitoring substantial financial savings.
-Undertake detailed service evaluation to support the rationale for recommending and implementing specific service improvements using a range or recognised improvement tools and techniques
-Analyse complex, sensitive and conflicting information, and datasets including: activity and patient flows, demand/capacity, and performance data. Present information appropriately to the audience to enable them to take action
-Apply well-developed influencing and negotiating skills to discuss both good and poor findings in services. Use these skills to successfully challenge current practice and offer new solutions for working. Employ change management, negotiating and diplomacy skills to overcome resistance and elicit support for new and innovative solutions for service redesign and delivery amongst teams
-Empower, support and coach colleagues to undertake transformation from within as part of their on-going workload and commitment to UHS. Actively contribute to the Always improving training and education programme, providing coaching and facilitation to individuals, action learning sets and teams, upskilling their capability to undertake local change

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential
- First Degree or equivalent experience/diplomas
- Detailed knowledge and application of a recognised service improvement technique or relevant experience to Masters level or equivalent
- Evidence of further training/study/leadership courses
- Proven track record in project management experience
- Project or change management training
- Facilitation of multi-professional groups
- Presenting and communicating to care groups and divisions
- Experience at a senior level in industry or healthcare sector
- Literate, with experience of report writing
- Evidence of leading and implementing change, influencing behaviour, collaborative working with others
- Evidence of significant structured project management skills and experience
- Ability to analyse complex problems in detail, interpret complex information, and develop practical and workable solutions to address them
- Demonstrate the ability to analyse and interpret technical, sensitive or contentious information and present this to a variety of audiences
- Ability to lead project teams to effect change in rapidly changing environments, to achieve agreed goals
