An exciting opportunity has arisen within our friendly Pre-Operative Assessment Department at Wexham Park Hospital. We provide a high-quality, patient-centred service for the majority of elective surgical patients attending the hospital, ensuring agreed Trust standards are achieved.
This is a 37.5-hour post, with department operating hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for a motivated and resilient Administrator with a positive, can-do attitude to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be committed to delivering high standards of patient care, and enjoy working in a busy healthcare environment. A friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach is essential.

Main duties of the job
The Outpatient Appointments Officer is a key member of the Pre-Operative Assessment team, responsible for the effective coordination of outpatient appointments and patient pathways. The post holder will use EPIC to manage patient bookings, liaise with a range of healthcare professionals, and ensure administrative processes support the timely progression of patients through the elective surgery pathway. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality patient-centred service.

- Experience working in a busy administrative or hospital environment
- Minimum of 1 year customer service experience
- Experience communicating with patients, relatives and healthcare professionals

- Call centre or appointment booking experience
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
- Proficient in Digital processes
- ECDL or equivelant qualification
- Experience using NHS digital systems (e.g. EPIC)
