The post holder will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement.

Based in a speciality clinical team, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge.

The postholder will provide a patient focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time.

The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our administrative team and support with coordination and scheduling of an expanded programme of work.

Reporting to the Assistant Service Manager for Respiratory, you will work closely with the Respiratory Administrative and Clerical team to support the administration and scheduling of outpatient activity for the Respiratory service and provide essential administrative coordination to the Service with a particular focus on our Interstitial Lung Disease Service. A flexible approach and excellent interpersonal skills are essential in addition to high standards of customer service.

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to a patient’s care pathway, tracking and supporting patients from referral to treatment &/or discharge.

The role will require some patient-facing activity, and you will also be expected to manage and support queries from patients, clinicians and fellow staff. Excellent telephone skills and good IT proficiency will also be essential in helping with day-to-day duties. The role requires the postholder to be able to work at both hospital sites for several days each week.
