Reporting to the Head of Temporary Staffing and E-Rostering, you will play a key operational leadership role in the day-to-day management of the Trust's Temporary Staffing and E-Rostering Services.

You will work closely with clinical and non-clinical leaders across the organisation to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective staffing solutions are delivered in line with NHS policies, workforce regulations and best practice standards.

This role offers the opportunity to drive transformational change, support workforce optimisation and lead the development of innovative staffing solutions across our hospitals.

Main duties of the job

As Operational Support Manager, you will:

- Lead the day-to-day operational management of the Temporary Staffing and E-Rostering teams.

- Drive continuous service improvement and support the delivery of workforce and cost improvement objectives.

- Oversee the effective deployment of bank and agency workers across the Trust.

- Lead the development of a non-clinical staff bank to support administrative and corporate services.

- Ensure compliance with NHS Improvement, NHS Employers and relevant workforce legislation.

- Monitor service performance through KPIs, dashboards and workforce reporting.

- Support achievement of E-Rostering Levels of Attainment and workforce transformation goals.

- Manage supplier relationships and attend agency performance meetings.

- Provide leadership, coaching and line management to Team Leaders and E-Rostering staff.

- Deputise for the Head of Temporary Staffing and E-Rostering as required.

Person specification

Knowledge

Essential

  • IT skills to an advanced level – including Microsoft Office products
  • Able to prioritise own work and support others with the prioritisation of theirs
  • Ability to produce service development reports and associated documentation
  • Knowledge of e-rostering systems and temporary staffing processes within the NHS

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in the NHS and a proven experience of the management of staff
  • Appropriate experience of working with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff and being able to secure their engagement in change and service improvement

Desirable

  • Experience of training staff on new systems or processes

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Completion of, or working towards, a Certificate in Management
