Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an accredited Colposcopist and/or Hysteroscopist to join an experienced team of nurses within Gynae oncology running autonomous nurse-led clinics. Band 7/8a depending on experience.  Candidates currently trained in Colposcopy will be expected to undertake the Hysteroscopy course at Masters level at Bradford/London in order to become a qualified hysteroscopist. Candidates trained in Hysteroscopy will be expected to undertake Colposcopy training and OSCE to become an accredited Colposcopist with the BSCCP. The post will also include some Gynae Oncology CNS work in order to support the team.

Candidates qualified in either Colposcopy or Hysteroscopy would be employed at Band 7

Candidates dual qualified in Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy would be employed at Band 8a

Candidates employed at a Band 7 would be upbanded to 8a on completion of training.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation of care, utilising highly specialist skills in Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy.

Responsible for ensuring high quality, clinical and cost-effective healthcare across Gynae Oncology.

Responsible for providing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care.

Triage of all referrals into Gynae Oncology and Colposcopy. Running autonomous nurse led clinics for USCP in hysteroscopy,  ability to provide see and treat service using Myosure. Running autonomous nurse-led clinics for Colposcopy (diagnostic and LLETZ).

Manage and act on all results and support junior colleagues. Carry own complex patient case load.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

  • Gynaecological oncology nursing course
  • Leadership training
  • Expectation to gain advanced communication skills training if not already
