Job overview

An opportunity has risen to join Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) Colposcopy Clinical Nurse Specialist Team on a fixed 12-month term. The role is ideal for a (British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology) BSCCP-accredited practitioner who is keen to further develop their expertise in colposcopy and women's health within a dedicated and experienced team.

The ideal candidate will hold full BSCCP accreditation, have experience in gynaecology and/or women's health. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be motivated, flexible and able to work both independently and part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to work collaboratively with clinicians and administrative staff and fellow gynaecology nurses.

You will be joining a supportive and highly experienced team committed to delivering high-quality colposcopy services and patient centred care. Main duties of the job

  • Provide a high-quality assessment, diagnostic examination for women referred to the colposcopy service without direct medical supervision/independently but in accordance with local and BSCCP National Guidelines.
  • Act as a resource for women referred and clinical and administrative teams by provision of comprehensive advice, information, teaching within ICHT
  • To act as a resource for patients, GP's and colleagues with ICHT via telephone and email advice line.
  • Review patient diagnostic laboratory results, interpreting and actioning clinician instructions.
  • Contribute to formulating reports and clinical audit of own practice, service and outcomes.
  • Active involvement in the development of the Gynaecology service
  • Active involvement in improving patient pathway and experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
