The Mental Health Support Team is expanding as part of the National commitment to reach 100% coverage with schools by 2029. Established in 2019, our MHST is embedded across each district across the County

This new leadership role will support expansion and be part of the established leadership team.

A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To lead and manage the day-to-day operations and performance of the CAMHS Mental Health Support Team to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire.

Working in collaboration with the senior CAMHS leadership team, the post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of teams, driving towards improved mental health outcomes for children and young people. The post holder will provide and oversee managerial supervision and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe patient centred care.

The post holder will develop innovative new ways of working with other providers to enhance improved working practices and relationships across healthcare in order to meet strategic objectives, organisational requirements and evidence based practice developments with a focus upon children and young people’s mental health provision.

The post holder will need to have excellent managerial and leadership skills with a good understanding of the clinical needs of children and young people requiring mental health support.

Please note, this is a full time post, and the successful candidate will be required to work Monday- Friday. This is non-negotiable.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

  • Have a significant amount of relevant clinical experience/understanding across the breadth of presentations within Community CAMHS, MHST or relevant clinical delivery area.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level (relevant to the post) with additional post graduate qualification.
  • Registered Nurse, Dip SW or equivalent social work qualification (CSS, CQSW, degree in social work), Allied Health Professional with professional accreditation with HCPC registration or equivalent and relevant nationally recognised accrediting body.

Desirable

  • Additional and relevant to the role qualification(s)
  • Leadership qualification.
  • Supervision qualification.

Physical Requirements

Essential

  • Has the ability to perform the full ranges of duties.
  • Standard keyboard skills.
  • Ability to travel across site and system partner sites.
  • Complete physical safety training.
  • Required to undertake on call duties on the 1st Mental Health on-call rota.

  • Ability to partake in the Mental Health 1st on call rota, which may require working unsocial hours
