Job summary

Are you passionate about promoting the welfare and safety of adults, children and young people, and survivors of domestic abuse? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered health professional with experience in safeguarding to work in Nottinghamshire Countys Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

The post will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a multi-agency team in partnership with a range of agencies from across the safeguarding partnership, such as the Police and Adult and Childrens Services.

You will coordinate and undertake operational management within the MASH, sharing relevant health information to help ensure that adults, children and young people in Nottingham City receive the right help at the right time.

The post holder will need to have robust safeguarding knowledge, and a solution-focused approach which will enable them to develop effective professional relationships with safeguarding partners. You will have experience working directly with adults, children and families - applying safeguarding policy and processes.

Interviews are expected to be held on 8th October 2026.

Main duties of the job

The MASH Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of CityCares key functions within the MASH including:

  • The day to day operational management of the MASH Health Team, allocating the workload and prioritising work accordingly.
  • Ensuring health records are reviewed, analysed, and relevant information shared with Children and adults Social Care in a timely manner where there are safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse incidents, or a request for additional support services has been made.
  • Attending strategy discussions as the health representative where there are concerns that an adult or child has, or is likely to suffer, significant harm. You will contribute to the multi-agency decision making process, including any immediate or short-term actions required to safeguard the adult or child.
  • Ensuring domestic abuse notifications are reviewed and recorded on SystmOne and are shared with the appropriate services.
  • Adherence to CityCares safeguarding and domestic sexual violence and abuse (DSVA) processes and policies, current legislation, and national and local guidance/procedures.

Job responsibilities

Job Purpose

  • Co-ordination of services to contribute to the protection of adult, children and adults at risk.
  • In your capacity as the coordinator, you will have day to day operational management responsibility for MASH Health within the Partnership, ensuring our positive relationships are sustained and developed.
  • Working in partnership is a key element of this role and recognises how critical this approach is in all aspects of safeguarding.
  • Appropriate and relevant information is shared with partner agencies ensuring outcomes/ decisions are clearly documented and demonstrate compliance with Caldicott Principles, using MASH Information Sharing Agreement
  • Information-based risk assessment and decision making
  • Implementation and development of safeguarding practice across CityCare, ensuring robust processes and procedures are in place within the MASH
  • Development of reviews and implementation of action plans and lessons learned across the organisation.
  • Contribution to safeguarding training strategy.

Dimensions

  • The post holder will be responsible for security of goods/equipment needed for training projector, screen, questionnaires.
  • This post does not hold any financial or budgetary responsibilities however the role is required to work with the Lead professional for safeguarding children and Head of Safeguarding/Named Nurse to ensure that the service works in the most efficient, effective, and productive ways possible.
  • The post holders primary base will be Oak House however the post holder may have to travel across the city and county to other venues if required.

Key Responsibilities

  • To co-ordinate CityCare's contribution to County MASH Health.
  • Co-ordinate CityCare's response to safeguarding within a multiagency setting with a wide range of agencies.
  • Analysis of all City health records, producing and presenting effective summaries, often complex information, in a clear and concise manner. This will be done in line with the MASH Information Sharing Agreement
  • The post holder will influence, negotiate, and respectfully challenge when there are disagreements or polarization. In addition, the post holder will support, direct and advocate for CityCares staff within the MASH when issues arise.
  • To provide and receive complex and sensitive information concerning patients medical information.
  • Following notification of cases, the post holder will be able to work autonomously and organise and prioritise the workflow within the MASH, allocating accordingly.
  • You will be able to use appropriate evidenced based tools to assess the physical and emotional wellbeing of adults, babies, children, young people, and families.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, initiative, organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly in a multiagency team setting.
  • Ensure clear, accurate and up to date recording of information on SystmOne as per local record keeping policy.
  • To work in partnership with adults, children, young people, and families and with local partners across the Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Childrens Partnership, statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • To access and participate in safeguarding supervision.
  • To collate data and prepare reports monthly to support the Named Nurse/Head of Safeguarding.
  • Actively encourage and support clinical staff to adopt a think family approach and consider the needs of dependents when providing care.
  • Support and advise on the safeguarding incident, reporting and management process.
  • Actively contribute to working groups and other relevant corporate and service delivery groups and committees to achieve positive outcomes in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Advise, inform and escalate safeguarding concerns to their manager regarding all matters of safeguarding as appropriate.
  • Report verbally and in writing any accidents, complaints, untoward incidents and near misses as per policy.
  • To assist with the MARAC process and supporting CityCare's contribution to this function.

Communication

  • Contribute to effective working in a changing environment as services develop, and to undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required within the remit of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for the role.

Training

  • Contribute to the co-ordination, delivery, and evaluation of the CityCare safeguarding training strategy and programme, in conjunction with the Safeguarding team, and Safeguarding Partners.
  • Participate in the delivery of multi-agency training where appropriate.

Monitoring

  • Develop and co-ordinate systems of audit to monitor the agreed local and national policies and procedures, audits, and inspection to evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of safeguarding practice within CityCare.
  • Assist with the collection of data for Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews and Incident investigations including producing chronologies.
  • Support the implementation of recommendations from internal and external safeguarding reviews.
