Band 8A Lead Nurse for Hepatology and Viral Hepatitis
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Viral Hepatitis team in a time of great service development.
This post is a development post to become the new lead of the service.
Experience in this field is essential, however leadership and managerial development will be supported.
This is a full-time post that will cover the service and clinics at the main Royal Berkshire Hospital site as well as satellite clinics across the county.
You will be working with a diverse patient group which will require a flexible approach to work.
This is a rapidly expanding specialty which includes: viral disease, fatty liver disease, drug and alcohol, liver cancers, chronic liver disease screening and management.
You will need to bring relevant experience, motivation and commitment to this role and you will receive the opportunity to develop a specialised career pathway in a leading nurse lead service.
Main duties of the job
This is a key developmental role supporting the Matron in Abdominal Surgery to lead the overall nursing performance of the viral Hepatitis service.
You will support the achievement of all local, organisational and national targets and standards.
You will provide visible leadership to staff within the service and ensure the delivery of agreed objectives and plans for service development.

Experience
Essential
- Significant post-qualification with recent clinical, leadership and managerial experience at minimum of band 7 AfC
- Evidence of highly developed specialist knowledge and formal training in field.
- Experienced in meeting requirements of Quality Assurance Framework for the Service.
- Experience in facilitation, teaching, assessing, and coaching.
- Experienced in Audit Process
- Understanding and experience of challenges and solutions to meeting access targets.
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Pt 1/12) ((RSCN (Pt 8) if appropriate)) educated to a minimum of 1st degree level, or able to demonstrate evidence that working towards
- Mentorship qualification.
- Demonstrable management experience
- Leadership and/or specialist knowledge
