Job summary

We are recruiting for a KIM Officer to join the Knowledge and Information Management Team in the Corporate Governance deputy directorate on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

This exciting role will be responsible for delivering records business support across NHS Resolution (NHSR), through developing good collaborative working relationships with staff and being a first point of contact for records management queries. You will support a network of information champions, and provide analysis and reports on how teams are managing their records, information and knowledge.

Job responsibilities

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting NHSR in it's use of O365 (SharePoint, Teams) to manage our information in line with legislation, regulation and business need.
  • Supporting the development of NHSR's Information Champions network.
  • Providing support to the Data Protection Officer (DPO), by supporting staff to manage their records effectively and providing Knowledge and Information Management advice in relation to Data Protection Impact assessments.
  • Providing records management support for Inquiries and Reviews.
  • Providing analysis and reports on how different teams are managing their records, information and knowledge.

  • An understanding or experience of records management principles and practices, and a working knowledge of O365 (SharePoint and Teams)

Knowledge & Understanding

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of Public Records Act
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulations (2018)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of confidentiality within the workplace (particularly within the NHS)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Equality Act (2010)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Freedom of Information Act (2000)
  • A basic understanding of the Knowledge and Information Management principles.

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the Inquiries Act 2005 and the Inquiries Rules 2006

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree and/or specialist records management (e.g. CILIP) qualification or experience acquired through formal education and theoretical experience.
  • Expertise in analytics and\or records management obtained via further training and experience or equivalent
