We are seeking a Lead Clinician on a full time basis, to support others in leading our mental health and wellbeing hub in Cowley. You will work in an integrated MH setting with colleagues from primary care, mental health services, including the voluntary and community sector, to improve support for those with mental health issues.
As part of our services across Oxfordshire we have established Keystone Mental Health hubs to support GP practices with Mental Health assessment and support for patients in their communities.
We offer training and development to all our hub staff to ensure they are able to provide a trusted assessor role, as well as being supported to apply for formal training currently being offered from HEE to provide psychological interventions for people with SMI.
If you are an experienced band 7 or similar who is looking for a new challenge in a service that offers early intervention for people who need mental health support. You will have demonstratable leadership qualities, as well as working as part of an MDT & with internal & external stakeholders.

Main duties of the job
- As one of 2 lead clinicians in each team you will work with a team of mental health professionals, Peer Support Workers and 3rd sector partners to provide the initial mental health intervention for 2-3 PCNs.
- You will provide triage, assessment and short-term interventions for people presenting for the first time with signs of mental illness, as well as for those with an SMI who are under the care of Primary care, offering early intervention and relapse prevention.
- You will support the team to focus services on local communities and local GP practices to help rebuild and reconnect healthcare teams across the communities they serve.

Essential
- Advanced understanding of the mental health needs of adults.
Desirable
- Specialist knowledge relating to MH needs of young adults age 18-25 and to the needs of those diagnosed with, or with presenting traits of, personality disorder.
Experience
Essential
- Highly extensive experience and significant post registration experience in working with people with mental health needs.
- Community experience in mental health services for adults and older age adults with severe / significant mental illness.
- Demonstratable experience within a leadership role
Desirable
- Experience working in a CAMHS and/or OPMH service.
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications
Essential
- Current professional registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse
Desirable
- Recognised Post Graduate clinical or leadership qualification relevant to the role.
