You’ll work as part of our Digital and Information Systems team, helping staff use a range of clinical and administrative systems safely and effectively. Your work will support good data quality, secure access, and smooth day‑to‑day operations, all of which play a key role in delivering high‑quality care.
Main duties of the job
- Provide support, guidance and training to colleagues using key systems such as Electronic Patient Records, rostering tools and registration platforms
- Investigate system issues, identify solutions and share clear advice with teams
- Maintain system configuration, monitor data quality and support routine upgrades
- Help create reports and analysis to support services and decision‑making
- Support Registration Authority processes, including user access and smartcard management
- Strong IT skills and confidence using a range of digital systems
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear and friendly way
- Good organisation and problem‑solving skills
- Experience supporting system users or transferable customer‑support skills
- Willingness to learn, with training and supervision provided

Knowledge
Essential
- Good IT skills (Microsoft packages) and knowledge of the varied organisations IT systems
- Working knowledge of Care Identity Management (CIM)
- Understanding of the National RA Policy and Requirements
- Understanding of the ISO27001 Management System Requirements
- Ability to process information in a logical order
- Ability to record information in an accurate and logical manner
- Ability to discuss and explain complex issues to employees
- Ability to interpret issues raised and explained by systems users
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation, and across multi-agency boundaries.
- Good analytical skills to be able to analyse and interpret individuals’ learning needs to decide how best to deliver the training.
- Able to demonstrate in depth usage of using word processor and presentation software to produce attractive and clear reports and presentations
Desirable
- Knowledge of NHS IM&T systems such as SystmOne, Dawn, R4, Inform, Maps (E-Rostering), Software Europe Expenses, Covalent, ESR, Choose & Book (E-rs)
- Knowledge of performance management tools and techniques, e.g. balanced scorecards, lean systems etc
- Registration Authority policies, procedures and systems within the NHS
Experience
Essential
- Significant experience as working as a RA Agent within CIM
- Significant experience of supporting implementation and daily management of the information security management system (ISO27001).
- Ability to record information in an accurate and logical manner
- Ability to discuss and explain technical issues to non-technical staff
- Ability to interpret complex technical problems explained by non-technical systems users
- Practical experience of developing & delivering training to non-technical staff
- Support of IT systems or equivalent transferrable user/staff support type experience
- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable
- Experience of producing Business Intelligence reports
- Experience of NHS IT systems such as SystmOne, Dawn, R4, Inform, , Maps (E-Rostering), Covalent, ESR, E-Referrals (Choose & Book)
- SQL experience
- Experience in handling and analysis of NHS data sets
- Experience of working in an information or performance management
Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 4 equivalent qualifications or significant experience in relevant area
- GCSE/GCE Mathematics - Grade C or above, GCSE/GCE English - Grade C or above
Desirable
- ECDL, NHS Elite, NHS Preparation for MOST or equivalent
- Adult Educations Training Qualification (i.e. City & Guilds or Cert Ed.) or demonstrable experience supporting other training needs
- SystmOne Train The Trainer
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence, performance or charting software
- Professional award in IM&T or recognised management qualification
