Main duties of the job

  • Provide strategic, professional and operational nursing leadership across Children and Young People’s services.
  • Lead and support nursing teams to deliver safe, compassionate and high-quality care for children, young people and their families.
  • Foster a culture where colleagues feel empowered, developed and able to thrive.
  • Drive improvements in quality, safety, governance and patient experience, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Work in partnership with senior clinical and operational leaders to shape and develop services that meet the changing needs of our communities.
  • Ensure effective workforce planning, staff deployment and professional development across nursing teams.
  • Champion research, innovation and evidence-based practice to improve outcomes for patients and families.
  • Act as a trusted source of expert advice on children's nursing and professional practice.
  • Contribute as a senior leader to the delivery of West London Children's Healthcare and Trust-wide priorities.

Experience

  • Extensive successful experience in a demanding Senior Nurse role or equivalent managerial role at a senior level within a complex organisation
  • Significant experience of HR management, including managing grievance and disciplinary hearings
  • Experience of working in an operational nursing senior capacity
  • Demonstrable experience in working with external partners and meeting their needs in relation to quality initiatives
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of management and handling of data and information
