We are seeking a Fire Safety Support Officer and Facilitator to join our team and play a key role in supporting fire safety compliance across the organisation.

Fire safety is a critical function that supports the wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors, ensuring that buildings remain safe, compliant, and operational. This rewarding role combines technical expertise, risk management, training, and collaborative working. By identifying fire risks, developing practical solutions, and promoting a strong fire safety culture, you will help ensure the safety of our people and environments while supporting organisational compliance and resilience.

Working closely with colleagues across clinical and corporate services, you will support the delivery of fire safety programmes, provide specialist advice and guidance, facilitate training and awareness initiatives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of fire safety standards across a diverse estate

Main duties of the job

As a Fire Safety Support Officer and Facilitator, you will:

  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and review of fire safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in undertaking and reviewing fire risk assessments and monitoring action plans.
  • Identify fire risks and support managers in implementing practical and proportionate control measures.
  • Deliver and facilitate fire safety training, awareness sessions, and evacuation exercises.
  • Support fire safety inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Maintain accurate fire safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on fire safety legislation, policies, and best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, staff, contractors, and external agencies to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to emergency planning and business continuity arrangements where required.
