Employability OfficerBand 6Based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, with hybrid working and travel across NHS Grampian as required
NHS Grampian is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and values-driven Employability Officer to support the design, coordination and delivery of our Parental Employability Framework. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to NHS Grampian’s Anchor Organisation ambitions by creating supported employment pathways for parents who are at risk of poverty and helping people access sustainable opportunities within health and care.
The post holder will work closely with Local Employability Partnerships, third sector providers, education partners, recruitment colleagues and NHS services to develop accessible routes into paid placements, entry-level roles and longer-term employment. The role will involve practical programme coordination, participant support, manager guidance, partnership engagement and monitoring of outcomes to ensure the programme is inclusive, evidence-informed and responsive to local workforce priorities.
You will be confident working across organisational boundaries, able to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and skilled in communicating sensitive or complex information in a clear, supportive and professional way. You will also be able to balance participant needs, service capacity and programme objectives, using sound judgement to identify barriers, manage risks and escalate issues appropriately.
The successful candidate will have knowledge or experience of employability, workforce development, project delivery, inclusive recruitment, community partnership working or a related field. You should be able to plan and coordinate multiple workstreams, analyse and present programme information, maintain accurate records and use Microsoft 365 applications confidently, including Teams, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
This role will suit someone who is motivated by reducing barriers to employment, improving access to opportunity and supporting services to develop inclusive and sustainable workforce pathways. In return, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to NHS Grampian’s wider work on employability, fair work, child poverty and community wealth building.
