Job overview

As a Community Eating Disorders Matron, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, high-quality, evidence-based care while providing visible leadership to multidisciplinary teams. You'll help shape services, support staff development, oversee governance and patient safety, and contribute to the continued transformation of community-based care.

Main duties of the job

You will hold overall responsibility for the clinical, operational, quality, performance and financial management of designated community services, working in partnership with operational and clinical leaders. You will provide expert clinical leadership, support complex case management, and lead improvements that enhance patient safety, experience and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional and clinical leadership across community services.
  • Driving quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Supporting and developing multidisciplinary teams through supervision, coaching and mentorship.
  • Leading on risk management, safeguarding and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Supporting the delivery of evidence-based practice and service development programmes.
  • Working collaboratively with service users, carers, staff and partner organisations.
  • Acting as a visible and accessible leader across services.
  • Supporting the management of complex clinical cases and providing specialist advice.
