Main duties of the job
- Carry out colposcopic assessment of the cervix, vagina and vulva, including interpretation of findings and taking biopsies.
- Perform treatment such as large loop excision of the transformation zone (LLETZ) and other local therapies, in line with competence and local protocols.
- Make clinical decisions about management, follow-up and discharge, and develop management plans following national guidance.
- Obtain informed consent and make sure patients understand their results, treatment options and next steps.
- Recognise complications or emergencies and respond or escalate promptly.
