This is an exciting and energetic role for an individual who is passionate about providing good quality substance misuse care and support within a busy and rewarding environment.

The post holder will manage a cluster of custodial environments, including one psychosocial team and other team managers. Ensuring a high standard drug and alcohol recovery service is delivered in response to the needs of the service users as part of Inclusion and Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation trust.

Main duties of the job

o Ensure a full range of psychosocial interventions that motivate and support service users to achieve recovery and positive outcomes within a recovery-orientated substance misuse treatment service.o To be responsible for the provision of a drug and alcohol recovery service (incorporating assessment, recovery planning, casework coordination and psycho-social interventions) to problem drug and alcohol users located within the prison establishment.o To effectively supervise liaison and develop links with partner agencies to provide a through-care service for prisoners from the point of entry into the prison system to release into the community so that re-offending is reduced and the health, well-being and social functioning of Service User is improved.o To contribute and work within the prison and wider drug strategy.

Job responsibilities

Ensure the efficient use of human resources ensuring safe levels of staffing, which reflect the necessary and appropriate skill mix across the team as identified by senior managers. Responsibility for the operational management of the prisons in their cluster. Line management of the Team managers. Lead on recruitment, selection and interviewing staff and support local managers undertake the induction of new staff To be responsible for the development of effective training plans and lead on team building. Promote an open, honest, supportive, forward and outward looking working environment, facilitating new ideas, suggestions or debate in relation to the service requirements

Provide formal, on-going clinical supervision and caseload management supervision Attend Inclusion meetings when requested Oversee the incidents and SI reporting in the cluster and to ensure investigations are carried out in a timely manner and to work alongside the Head of Quality and Performance for Inclusion in ensuring lessons are learnt and shared across Inclusion

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of managing a related service and delivering a high quality service which delivers on outcomes
  • Providing effective supervision and line management of staff.
  • Good presentation skills both written and oral including the ability to produce & present reports.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional Qualification (Degree & Masters/Post graduation or equivalent) in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Probation and/or experience of managing services in Mental Health, Substance Misuse or Prisons.
