We are recruiting a Clinical Service lead for our inpatient eating disorder services. The post holder will cover Wisteria (CAMHS) and Avalon ward (adult).
We are looking for a committed Clinician who is passionate about working with children, young people and adults with a special interest in eating disorders.
This role is open to qualified clinical staff with the following:
Qualification as an Occupational Therapist / Nurse / Clinical Psychologist
Main duties of the job
This post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical leadership and operational management for a defined group of teams within the service line. The postholder is responsible for the clinical leadership and line management of the managers of those teams, and for the performance of those teams in terms of clinical quality, safety, finance, human resource management and governance. The postholder should be highly visible and accountable in all teams they support, being sensitive to the needs of client groups, carers, and wider family. The postholder will provide a knowledgeable supportive leadership presence across the teams.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To promote continual improvement in care quality, including (but not limited to) implementing updated clinical models, and promoting integration across teams, services and agencies.
To demonstrate visible leadership and take responsibility for ensuring a therapeutic, recovery focussed, environment.
To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the service through the implementation of effective risk management, governance and assurance systems.
To ensure that reflective practice takes place within all teams, and that team managers facilitate all team members attending.
To take responsibility for key practice development projects across the service line as assigned by the line manager or by the Head of Nursing & Quality.
To ensure that robust systems and processes are in place to facilitate clinical audit and the implementation of best practice guidelines (including NICE).

Essential
- Experience of working at a senior clinical or management level
- Experience of managing a clinical team
- Experience of managing and supervising other staff
- Experience of successfully planning, implementing and evaluating services
- Experience of service development / review and leading on change
- Experience of policy development and implementation within a team
- Experience of managing finances and budgeting
Desirable
- Experience of working in mental health
- Experience of managing services that have integrated partnerships
Training & Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- professional qualification
- Evidence of post registration CPD to include specific training/education relevant to the post
Desirable
- Professional management qualification at diploma level or above
- Project management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 foundation level
- Post-graduate qualification in service improvement or healthcare leadership
