An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated registered Mental Health Nurse (clinical lead ) to join the team at Ward F which is a 21 bed treatment ward for Adult s in mental health services. Candidates should have relevant experience at a Band 5/6 level within the field of adult Mental Health. The successful candidate will be required to be passionate about delivering an exceptional level of care and leading a team to ensure this is achieved.
As Clinical Lead applicants you will be expected to demonstrate a passion to want to work in mental health services and have a passion for unscheduled care services. you will be expected to work alongside the Multidisciplinary to assess, treat and prepare for safe discharges.
The successful applicant will have an excellent opportunity to support, lead and develop the team on Ward F.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who has a drive and passion for trauma informed care and can demonstrate effective leadership and change management skills.
To play a critical role within the Ward F management team, the post holder will be expected to maintain high standards of evidence based nursing care. This will be accomplished through completing regular audits of the nursing paper work completed by the Band 5 nurses on the ward, having regular supervisions with the Nursing team to ensure that high standards are maintained and to ensure that the team are supporting each other. The post holder will be expected to deputise as role of Ward Manager in their absence.
An essential aspect of the Clinical Lead role will be to ensure you role model a high standard of compassionate care, leading by example and engaging with the staff team and Ward Manager regularly to confirm these standards are being maintained at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply

Experience
Essential
- Substantial post qualification experience
- Experience of multi-disciplinary and/or multi-agency working.
- Experience of working in Mental Health Services and/or in providing care for clients with mental health problems
- Extensive knowledge of current best practice with designated client group
- Knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance
- Documented evidence of CPD
Desirable
- Experience of research and/ or audit and implementing evidence based practice
- Awareness of specific government policy / legislation pertinent to the clinical areas.
Aptitude and Abilities
Essential
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate with clients to influence positive recovery based outcomes
- Ability to organize time effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as a lead clinician within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good problem solving skills
- Have an understanding of Health Board Core Values
Desirable
- Able to work hours flexibly.
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
- Good IT skills
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
Essential
- 1st Level Registered Mental Health Professional Nurse.
- Professional Registration with NMC
- Evidence of relevant post registration study
Desirable
- Relevant management qualification
- Qualification in clinical supervision
- Diploma/Degree level qualification OR working towards Diploma/Degree level
