This is a new role within CAMHS and an opportunity to drive forward change and effective leadership.
Main duties of the role include -
To provide clinical leadership, support and supervision to clinical staff.
To work as an integral part of the CAMHS Service which will include carrying a small complex caseload.
To participate in the extended working hours as required by the needs of the service
To provide clinical leadership and supervision to the team.
Maintain consistency and quality of care for all service users under the care of CAMHS and support effective and timely discharge.
Support safe, efficient and effective high quality transitions in and out of CAMHS.
Ensure the team works in a collaborative manner with other agencies and partnerships across the service.
To ensure that clinical standards are monitored and evaluated, and ensure both they and the team provide care of the highest quality to patients
To be a visible and pro-active clinical leader and role model within the multidisciplinary team and actively participate in the delivery of clinical issues, including clinical risk assessment
To support the service area in achieving clinical governance objectives by assisting in individual service reviews, ensuring action plans are formulated and best practice is shared.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide case management supervision to the staff team, promoting stepping down services to care support and the timely discharge
To be an effective decision-making and clinical resource to support the Team manager in the selections and recruitment of staff, and to develop and promote strategies aimed at staff retention
To support the Team manager to complete appraisals and MYC for relevant allocated staff within the team.
To support the team in developing and building effective communication with all other services.
To take appropriate action with regard to complaints and reportable incidents within the service as directed by the Team Manager.
To contribute to the implementation of local and national objectives.

Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Demonstrate risk management skills
- Resource management – the ability to develop team and individual key strengths through clinical and professional supervision
- Ability to work in a pressured environment and manage competing priorities
- To be able to lead the team effectively in team settings
- Demonstrates behaviours in line with the PCFT Management Behaviour profiles.
- Evidence of commitment to developing a culture of care and compassion
- Support others in understanding of young people and children’s mental health needs and how these can be addressed in their work
- Demonstrate experience of managing people in diverse functions
Desirable
- To have a track record of effective working with clinical education providers
- Comprehensive range of clinical skills
- Ability to work in a pressurised environment and manage competing priorities
Experience / Knowledge
Essential
- Significant experience of leadership and proven track record of managing groups of staff and/or teams
- Successful management and control of substantial and complex resources
- Evidence of improving service quality
- Successful track record of prompting, leading and implementing change programmes that drive up standards and service performance
- History of holding responsibility and accountability for clinical decisions and empowering clinicians to make difficult clinical decisions
- Evidence of high levels of competence with written documentation
- Evidence of achieving high standards regarding CPA documentation
- Evidence of building and maintaining effective relationships
Desirable
- Personal experience of mental health or experience through caring
- Proven track record of successful strategic thinking
- Experience of leading on audit and/or research activity related to clinical practice
Education / Qualifications
Essential
- Registered professional - Nursing, Social Work / Occupational Therapist
- Evidence of post registration additional training and/or experience to Master’s Level
- Degree or Diploma in a professional qualification
Desirable
- Masters degree
