The Clinical Lead for Sustainability, together with the Sustainability and Environmental Manager, are responsible for the Green Plan and Sustainability Strategy for Sirona, supporting the Associate Director for Estates and Environmental.
The role reports to the Associate Director for Estates and Environmental and is part of the Estates and Facilities team. The focus of the role will concentrate on clinical elements of energy and water management, carbon reduction, environmental and legal compliance, sustainable design and construction, communications and staff engagement in conjunction with the Sustainability and Environmental Manager who leads for the non-clinical elements.
Main duties of the job
- Championing environmental sustainability in clinical and non clinical work.
- Leading communication and engagement for the clinical elements in the Environmental Strategy across Sirona.
- Providing and receiving information of complex nature relating to energy management, carbon reduction, sustainability, and governance matters.
- Presenting information in appropriate manner suitable for operational staff through to senior management level in a manner capable of influencing change.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships and communication with neighbouring healthcare providers and other external contacts
- Attending relevant meetings representing Sirona where required
- Supporting staff to identify and solve sustainability issues in their workplace showing the connection between sustainability actions and improving patient care
- Liaising closely with key stakeholders to ensure Sirona is on track and can benefit from system-wide initiatives.
- Developing and creating content for a Green communications campaign which focuses on how to get clinical teams engaged in supporting the strategy.
- Presenting issues raised from clinical perspectives with regard to sustainability and environment.
