We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individual to join our Cancer Services team as a Cancer Team Leader.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in cancer pathways, NHS administration and team leadership to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality cancer services across the Trust. The successful candidate will lead the operational management of the Cancer MDT Coordinators, Cancer Tracker and Cancer Data Officer, ensuring patients receive timely care and treatment in line with national Cancer Waiting Time standards.
Main duties of the job
As Cancer Team Leader, you will work closely with the Lead Cancer Manager to ensure effective management of cancer pathways, support multidisciplinary teams and drive service improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the day-to-day management of the cancer administration team.
- Monitoring cancer pathways and supporting delivery of national Cancer Waiting Time targets.
- Ensuring accurate collection, validation and reporting of cancer performance and audit data.
- Coordinating and overseeing Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
- Managing escalations and identifying solutions to pathway delays.
- Supporting service development and improvement projects to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
- Building effective relationships with clinicians, operational teams and external healthcare organisations.

- Monitoring and managing cancer pathways to support delivery of Cancer Waiting Time targets.
- Leading and supporting the Cancer MDT Coordinators, Cancer Tracker and Cancer Data Officer.
- Coordinating effective MDT processes and ensuring actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring accurate cancer data collection, validation and reporting for national requirements and audits.
- Working closely with clinicians, managers and external organisations to prevent pathway delays and improve patient outcomes.
- Supporting service improvement projects and the implementation of best practice cancer pathways.
- Providing operational support, performance monitoring and expert advice on cancer standards and guidance
