Job summary
The Cancer Data Project Manager is a 12-month fixed-term position. The post holder will work closely with members of the Cancer Services team and site-specific multidisciplinary teams to deliver a programme of data quality and service improvement projects.
The role is responsible for planning, managing and delivering a broad portfolio of data-driven projects across Cancer Services, overseeing the full project lifecycle from initiation through to implementation and evaluation. This includes the development of project documentation, recommendations and sustainable data solutions to support service improvement and cancer metrics.
Using advanced technical knowledge of information management, data analysis and interrogation, the Cancer Data Project Manager will plan and develop new data reporting solutions.
The post holder will lead a small project team, providing professional leadership, direction and support to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives and agreed outcomes.
The role requires a proactive, flexible and innovative individual who can effectively manage competing priorities, adapt to changing service requirements and maintain momentum across multiple projects simultaneously.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible, with support, for the development, management and delivery of the 12- month project which will require a flexible and responsive approach.
You will manage a small project team, engaging with internal and external partners to lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Cancer Data Project, ensuring its objectives, deliverables and outcomes are achieved within agreed timescales.
Utilising project management skills to assess gaps in data provision, you will work with multiple digital health care systems to define data reporting improvements. This will support patient pathway improvement.
Using excellent communications skills, you will work with clinical teams, patients and other stakeholders to deliver recommendations in relation to data collection, reporting and patient experience.
You will establish and lead a project steering group to underpin the project and ensure its sustainability following its completion.
