This post is an exciting opportunity to form part of the CAMHS senior leadership team in Tower Hamlets and will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and services for children and young people with mental health problems and their families.

Working in partnership with the Associate Clinical Director, General Manager, Lead Psychiatrist, Co-lead of EB2, the post holder will provide inspirational leadership of multidisciplinary clinicians in the Service’s Emotional & Behavioural Disorders Team 2 to ensure effective, evidence based assessment and treatment, accessible care pathways and a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Main duties of the job

  • Working with EB2 Consultant Psychiatrist/CTL to lead and chair weekly MDT meetings, prioritising cases, supporting case formulation, evidence-based intervention/care plans, use of outcomes and robust risk assessments and safety plans. Responding to clinicians in between meetings when cases present in crisis. Facilitating EB2 line management meetings, supporting use of performance reports.
  • Providing strategic leadership to duty system, chairing senior duty meetings, and identifying areas for service improvement.
  • Taking an active role and to hold joint responsibility for all clinical leadership tasks including but not exclusive to managing team resources, allocation of cases for assessment and evidence based interventions.
  • The post holder will also be required to contribute to regular reviews of and projects associated with service delivery, pathway efficiency and workforce/skill mix/training need.
  • The post holder will also be expected to hold a clinical case load and contribute to clinical forums that contribute to the delivery of high quality evidence based clinical care.

Due to the nature of this leadership role, it is essential for the post-holder to be able to work 0.8wte (30hrs/week). Our service supports hybrid working however there will be minimum expectations for the post-holder to be on clinic site 3 days per week. This is subject to change in line with service needs.

Essential

  • Substantial experience of providing senior clinical leadership within CAMHS at Band 8B or above
  • Experience of supervising and line managing in a multidisciplinary / multiagency context
  • Experience of contributing to service developments and change implementation and transformation
  • Experience of representing the service a multi-agency strategic planning level groups
  • Experience of partnership working with other agencies
  • Experience of multiagency consultation and organising and delivering training and presentations
  • Experience of performance managing staff within HR processes
  • Significant post-qualification experience including substantial multidisciplinary experience of working with children, adolescents, families and groups
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups that reflect the full range of clinical severity
  • Significant experience of risk assessment and risk management
  • Experience of working with safeguarding issues and contributing to training within a safeguarding environment
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment
  • Experience of effective working with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies
  • Experience in the use of routine outcome monitoring

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Advanced knowledge within own clinical discipline and sufficient knowledge of other disciplines / modalities to provide overall psychological therapies leadership
  • Broad theoretical knowledge base in the analysis of highly complex facts or situations to arrive at appropriate formulations
  • Knowledge of clinical risk management systems and processes
  • Knowledge of differential risk factors for development of emotional and behavioural disorders including environmental, family, peer and neurodevelopmental factors
  • Up to date knowledge of NICE and other best practice guidelines
