An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and clinically skilled nurse to join our existing team of Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists in a part time post of 22.5 hours. The post holder will need to have experience within Breast cancer pathways.
The post holder will provide expert clinical and supportive care for patients diagnosed with Breast cancer and work with the Local Multidisciplinary Team in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway, providing individualised, compassionate and informed patient care.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for providing appropriate specialist advice, support and education to patients throughout the Breast Cancer pathways, from diagnosis to treatment end.
To play a pivotal role within the Breast Cancer team providing: specialist information; high quality care; assessment, advice and support for those patients on a suspected breast cancer pathway having investigative procedures and eventual diagnosis and treatment of a breast cancer. This will extend to their families / carers and other Health Care Professionals both internal and external to the Trust, which will promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework. They will provide guidance, supervision and training to peers and junior members of staff.
To ensure the quality of care to patients is maximised by establishing strong communication links with Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
To ensure that national cancer targets are met along the patients pathway; alerting appropriate personnel to preventing potential breaches.
