We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior People and Culture Partner to work in close partnership with senior leaders across the Health Unit and the Royal Free London Group. We have one role supporting Royal Free Hospital Health Unit.
This is a high‑impact senior people professional role, providing professional, customer‑focused people and culture support that drives organisational effectiveness, supports transformation and enables delivery of high‑quality services.
Main duties of the job
As a trusted advisor and integral member of divisional and directorate senior management teams, you will provide expert coaching, consultancy and leadership on all aspects of people management and culture. The post holder will develop a deep understanding of business priorities and workforce challenges, shaping and delivering pragmatic, evidence‑based people solutions that support performance, engagement, inclusion and wellbeing.
The postholder will lead workforce planning initiatives, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and working collaboratively with People, Education, OD and Leadership colleagues to ensure timely and effective workforce support. You will coach and support managers to resolve complex people issues, build management capability and embed best practice across their areas of responsibility.
In addition, the role will hold designated leadership for key group‑wide workforce initiatives and programmes, with responsibility for their development and implementation. The postholder will also deputise for the Head of People and Culture or Director of People and Culture as required.
This role is suited to a senior people professional with significant experience of supporting large, complex divisions or multiple service areas, who is passionate about shaping positive workplace cultures and enabling leaders to get the best from their people.
The expectation is that the post holder will work on site 3 days a week.

Essential
- Substantial knowledge and experience of advising managers on handling complex and sensitive issues.
- Experience of working as key stakeholder on HR projects
- In-depth knowledge and experience of working within a HR Business Partner model
Knowledge and experience

- Significant change management experience
- Significant acute NHS experience
- Experience of delivering large scale workforce transformation projects
- Significant HR BP model experience working with management teams to deliver organisational outcomes
