We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Clinical Lead to drive the delivery of our innovative Managing Emotions Programme (MEP) within Neighbourhood Mental Health services. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a skilled clinician passionate about supporting individuals with personality disorder (PD) and complex emotional needs to achieve meaningful recovery.
In this role, you will lead the development, delivery and evaluation of a tiered programme of recovery-focused, psychoeducational courses designed to empower individuals and carers to better understand and manage emotional intensity. You will play a key role in shaping high-quality, NICE-informed interventions, ensuring services are co-produced with people who use services, carers and partner organisations.
As a senior member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership, line management and supervision to staff, supporting their professional development while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for a confident and forward-thinking clinician with expertise in therapeutic approaches such as DBT, CBT or ACT, and a strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on service development while improving outcomes for individuals, carers and communities.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will provide leadership to the tiered intervention, alongside the Team Manager, to provide an effective, high quality service which enhances the co-production of PD recovery-focused courses.
- The post holder will support the co-delivery of the tiered model, offering a range of recovery-focused, NICE informed, courses aiming to improve the self-management of mental and or physical conditions to people experiencing traits, or a diagnosis, of PD and co-develop specific courses for carers.
- They will lead on the evaluation of the tiered PD pathway, supporting the use of relevant and appropriate outcome measures.
- The Clinical Lead will develop robust, effective communication with the service manage, including deputising when necessary, and appropriate.
- They will provide supervision to the Band 5 Expert Trainer / Mental Health Practitioner and support the mental and emotional wellbeing of the entire team.
- The post holder will support the co-development and evaluations of the carers provision by promoting a focus on carers health and wellbeing, including young carers.
- To carry out reviews of individuals who may need time and support in order for them to engage them in the tiered programme or to connect them to alternative community provision.
- To support the development and promotion of the Managing Emotions Programme in Surrey Heartlands and Frimley Health ICS.
