An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled HR advisor to gain experience at a senior advisor level by working alongside a talented and knowledgeable HR team.

This demanding yet rewarding opportunity will test your knowledge of employment law and best practices, whilst giving you the autonomy to further develop your career. The post-holder will take ownership of a varied caseload, support organisational change and will need to have good time management and prioritisation skills. Ideally, fully CIPD qualified, you will thrive on delivering a professional, customer-focused HR service that supports the Trust's vision and values.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive range of employment services as nominated first point of contact for service areas within the Trust and provide advice across the Trust as appropriate in the absence of colleagues.

Whilst this is advertised as a full time position, we would also welcome applications from those looking for part time opportunities (30 hours per week)

Main duties of the job

  • Provide professional advice to managers on complex people matters in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures and employment legislation and best practice ensuring a high quality, efficient and cost-effective service.
  • Advise and support managers on investigations, including grievance, disciplinary, and bullying and harassment cases.
  • Advise and support managers with complex sickness absence cases.
  • With support from the HR Partner, act as the main point of contact for managers in delivering agreed organisation change processes and service redesign providing support to managers and staff in relation to job design, redeployment, redundancy, TUPE transfer etc.  This will include analysing statistics, identifying trends and making recommendations based on this.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, staff side representatives and managers at all levels to support operational plans and objectives.
  • Actively contribute to the development of RDaSH’s desired culture within the team and wider organisation.
  • Support the HR Partner by undertaking day to day supervision of either a HR Advisor or an Associate HR Advisor.  Undertaking 121’s, appraisals, return to work interviews and providing day to day support
  • To advise on the implementation and interpretation of national and local agreements and the impact of changes in employment legislation.

  • Experience of undertaking a range of complex employee relations casework including disciplinary and grievance processes

  • Experience or a demonstrable understanding of TUPE regulations Knowledge of fair recruitment and selection practices
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment
  • Experience of working within the NHS or public sector environment
