PLEASE NOTE: This post is based at Prince Charles Eye Unit, King Edward VII Hospital, St Leonards Road, Windsor, SL4 3DP - and attracts a Fringe payment of 5% of gross basic salary.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (APPC) to join our Clinical Administration Team in the Ophthalmology Department at Prince Charles Eye Unit in Windsor.
We are looking for a candidate who can provide support to clinical and non-clinical staff.
You will be a point of contact for administrative issues relating to patients' pathway of care, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.

You will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact. You will provide a consistent approach across the Trust, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales.

We are also able to offer flexibility in working from the Prince Charles Eye Unit, Windsor as well as working from home on rotation.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will provide support in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.

To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will describe how the functions of the role will be carried out, along with the timescales to which are to be adhered.

- Experience of using of IT systems and patient data systems
- Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
- Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment team
Education/Qualifications

- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
- GCSE or equivalent
