We are looking for an Administrator to join our School Nursing Service!
Through delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, our School Nursing Service work in partnership with children, families and professionals to promote health and wellbeing by supporting children, young people and their carers with their physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing, and by equipping young people with the resources they need to make healthy lifestyle choices throughout life.
The School Nursing Service supports all school aged (5-19) children and young people across Bristol, working in partnership with multi-disciplinary health teams within community and acute services, local authority and voluntary sector teams - to deliver a clinically effective, high quality health service to the school aged population, in a variety of settings.
The working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
- To provide comprehensive administrative support to the School Nursing team. To act as an effective link across CCHP staff, Schools, Children's Social Care, GPs, the general public and other relevant bodies.
- The post requires organisation, attention to detail and initiative to ensure that the best possible care is delivered to children, young people, their families and that targeted tasks are completed on time.
- The post holder will be based in North Somerset at Badger House, and will work closely with administrators in other areas such as Health Visiting, Children's Continence and the Children Looked After and Care Leavers Teams.
- The Post Holder will be responsible for:
- Liaising with families, other health professionals and other agencies to make appointments on behalf of and at the request of the school nursing team.
- Acting as the central information and contact point for parents/ carers, medical and nursing staff and other agencies and disseminating information as appropriate to the school nursing team.
- Data entry of information into pre-populated templates and work based systems.
- Undertaking any necessary photocopying, filing, and other administrative duties to ensure the effective running of the office.
- Arranging, organising and co-ordinating the booking of premises for meetings.
- Working flexibly to support other school nursing team administrators across the area.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Experience
Essential
- Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own workload
- Experience of team working
- Experience of excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone
- Ability to use Microsoft 365 including Excel and Outlook
- Evidence of high quality written documentation to include letters and reports
- Evidence of ability to meet deadlines
Desirable
- Experience / understanding of dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Previous clerical experience dealing with telephone queries, correspondence and office administration
- Experience of working in a health care setting
- Experience using EMIS and Connecting Care
Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of education at GCSE level or equivalent to include English language
Desirable
- ICT qualifications
- NVQ2 in Business Administration
