Job summary

This post is only open to current employees of the Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a newly created team of medical secretaries, to support CAMHS medics. This substantive role is offered as 25 hours per week and is office based. The appointee will be expected to travel to bases across both counties.

You will be friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills. You will demonstrate significant experience of leading a team of people effectively and be able to exercise tact and discretion where necessary. You will have great IT skills and a keen eye for detail. A typical day could include monitoring inboxes, meeting with team members, running reports using Aero for example, and using Rio to audit patient related communication.

Main duties of the job

Use ESR to oversee the effective running of the department.

Lead, line-manage and coordinate administration staff across the department, including carrying out supervision and appraisals

Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.

Use your initiative and take responsibility for yourself and the quality of your work and the service you provide to patients, colleagues and stakeholders.

Complete administration tasks for nominated medic

Demonstrate effective IT skills to undertake a variety of administration tasks such as diary management, coordination of meetings, initiating responses to routine correspondence, gathering and presenting data.

Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Prepare and distribute agendas and take formal minutes.

Deal with incoming and outgoing mail, including e-mail.

Use tact and discretion where necessary and ensure confidentiality is maintained.

Undertake small-scale project work, as required.
