An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 2 Administration Assistant to work within our 5 bedded Older People's Mental Health Inpatient ward.

You will be expected to be flexible and work in a fast paced and highly demanding environment within the main office as occasionally well as providing cover to a very busy reception area.

The administration team provides 5 day a week cover over the working week supporting the multi disciplinary team of Health and Allied Health Professionals.

Main duties of the job

This role involves liaising with health care professionals from the Trust and outside agencies, also dealing with queries from patients requiring a service.

Excellent interpersonal skills and being able to work on own initiative are both essential.

The successful candidate will have good keyboard skills enabling them to assist in creating, developing and maintaining new processes and procedures. This includes regular data inputting using patient systems (System One ) in accordance with the Trust standards. Along with all other Microsoft Packages.

Applicants will have RSA III and OCRIII/ECDL or equivalent NVQ Qualification, a good standard of Maths and English and have previous experience of carrying out general administrative procedures in an office environment, preferably with a Health/NHS setting. Experience of using software packages including Microsoft Word/Outlook and Excel are beneficial. Experience with the Trust Patient Information Systems (System One ) would be advantageous.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Qualifications

  • 2 GCSEs/O levels English and Maths
  • Standard keyboard skills e.g. RSA2, ECDL, OR demonstrable experience within A&C field at standard level
