We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to join our team at Evenlode Ward based at our Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford. You'll join our multidisciplinary team and deliver a wide range of therapeutic, wellbeing, and social activities for service users.
Evenlode Ward is a 10 bedded medium secure ward supporting the needs of patients with a learning disability to develop skills and achieve goals around their physical health, mental health and forensic history. We strive to improve an individuals quality of life to support their return to the community.
You will work alongside the Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physical Fitness Practitioners to provide and facilitate a timetable of activities which complements therapy work.
Group and individual activities are tailored to service users' needs, helping to build confidence, develop skills, and encourage social interaction. You'll work alongside Activity Coordinators already working on the unit to ensure activities are inclusive, meaningful, and support each patient's recovery journey.

Main duties of the job
- Engage patients in physical and recreational activity appropriate to their individual needs and abilities.
- Plan and co-ordinate an innovative and adaptive programme of activity under the supervision and direction of members of the multi disciplinary team.
- Organise and plan patient events in collaboration with MDT colleagues, families and carers to promote inclusivity.
- Develop and use practical and technical skills with patients, either through your own identification of need or as suggested by members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Work with patients to improve their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.
- Assist in identifying patient's strengths and needs in order to plan and implement suitable activities for groups and individuals.
- Be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of activity with patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
This role will involve working a day at weekends and some evening work between the hours of 07:00 & 21:00. It is mandatory for all staff to complete PEACE training and other training directly related to the job. Please refer to the job description attached for a comprehensive list of duties.
This role includes an RSU allowance of £1,446 per annum on top of your salary.
