0-19 Public Health Nursing Administrative Supervisor

The Post Holder will be responsible for the effective & efficient smooth running of their designated service area, ensuring key service targets are met and to resolve any operational issues or escalate as required. The post holder will also ensure the staff they manage are fully supported and trained to perform well within their role.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has come up in the Integrated Women’s, Children’s and Sexual Health Directorate.

The post holder will oversee the day-to-day management of the administrative team, ensuring workloads are allocated effectively and all objectives and deadlines are met. They will supervise staff through regular one-to-ones, appraisals and initial HR processes while supporting service needs across the 0–19 services.

The role involves communicating complex and sensitive information clearly across the team, directorate and external partners. The post holder will implement Trust policies, contribute to service improvements and support staff training.

They will also manage staffing logistics, including rota planning, annual leave approval and sickness management ensuring adequate cover is maintained at all times.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

  • NHS Experience
  • Knowledge of 0-19 Public Health Nursing
  • Knowledge of EPR systems (e.g Emis/Cerner)
  • IT skills - (Microsoft office)
  • Knowledge of HR policies
  • Evidence of problem solving and service improvement
  • Customer/Patient service experience

Desirable

  • Experience and knowledge of Emis
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of supervising staff and allocating workloads

Qualification and Education

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths
  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Evidence of on-going continuous personal development (CPD) and training
