The role:
The postholder must be educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with current NMC registration and preferably experience working with the service target audience (young people aged 12-19). Excellent communication skills; experience of making sound clinical judgements and previous staff management experience are essential for this role.
This post is for 0.5 WTE x 2 Nurse Team Leads (18hrs) and will complement the existing post holders (1.0 WTE). There will be shared responsibility for managing the team of nurses who deliver clinical and non clinical support to young people aged 12-19 yrs. The service is delivered in 9 venues across Glasgow City in the evening with access to an On Call system during service delivery. In addition to this, the YHS nurses also have a wrap around function out with service delivery. The post holders will be expected to participate in the On Call rota, support the duty system as required and assist with cover for annual leave for the venue band 6 nurses.
This role may include the following : HR function, Clinical Supervision, Turas, Revalidation role, safer staffing and support for the cohort of nurses providing the direct patient care. In particular the nursing team may require professional support with clinical queries; caseload management including escalation of Child Protection issues and submission of Notifications of Concern. The YHS is supported by a comprehensive Business Support team, and other supporting roles such as the Employability Coach and Communication/engagement posts. The Nurse Team Leader role will also deputise for the Service Manager as required

All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Location based in Gartnavel Royal Hospital the service is delivered in a variety of venues across the city. Travel to venues will be required in the evenings.

- Shift pattern for this post are over three days – to be agreed. Monday – Friday & occasional evening delivery to 9.30pm as required.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Service Manager with the ongoing service innovation delivery, development and ongoing review of the service
- Lead and / or contribute to service re-design as required and implement service developments.
- Advise and support the Service Manager in implementing NHS & GCC terms and conditions of service, policies and procedures.
- Application of relevant organisational policies and procedures including the National Workload Tool.
- Provide vision, management advice and support to YHS nursing team to ensure a proactive, effective and positive culture is in place including encouraging participation in shaping the service.
- With input from professional leads, the post holder will provide leadership necessary to effectively develop and support the nursing team
- Promote excellent patient centred, safe and effective care, ensuring that the service respects the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of young people and that all staff provides services which are sensitive to these needs.
- Ensure professional networks are maintained and learning is communicated to the team and wider teams in the HSCP and partner agencies.
- All nurses are aware of and compliant with NMC Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives (2015) and ensure there is a system to monitor that staff are registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), have current NMC registration and meet NMC revalidation requirements.

- Post graduate qualification or specialist knowledge gained through relevant community / Primary Care experience that can be demonstrated.
- Degree or equivalent experience

- Evidence of relevant training, education and experience at team leader/supervisory level within the NHS
- Experience of Multidisciplinary work within organisation, across organisations and with external organisations and service user groups.
- Experience of change management including supporting the design and delivery of new services
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Proven track record in effective leadership – successful communication, negotiating, persuasion, influencing, challenging behaviours.
- Proven track record in effective management –resolving interpersonal conflict, problem solving, prioritisation, planning and organisational skills.
